Every day 30,000 children die as a result of extreme poverty. This shameful situation must end. If we have the will to act we can Make Poverty History.

Make Poverty History is a non-partisan coalition of more than 60 aid organisations, community and faith-based groups. We call on all political parties to take the following steps needed to achieve the Millennium Development Goals:

• increase Australia's aid and ensure it is used effectively
• make trade fair
• drop the debts of poor countries
• help poor countries keep their governments accountable, and
• tackle climate change in developing countries.

Make Poverty History responds to Professor Garnaut Make Poverty History has released a report commenting on Professor Garnaut’s Draft Report on climate change for the Government. This Make Poverty History report highlights the linkages between climate change and poverty. It outlines what Australia should do internationally to tackle climate change. Parents Against Poverty Join campaigners from around the country as they visit MPs to talk about maternal and child heath in developing countries and Australia’s aid program.
